CALM Workshop "Road Maps for Future Research in Environmental Noise"
Brussels, March 16, 2006

Objectives

The CALM Strategy Paper 2004 will be updated in this year. This includes also the updating of the related research road maps. In this workshop, the current road maps shall be reviewed and updated with a broad participation of stakeholders. The workshop shall cover the three transport modes air, rail and road. The basic approach in this workshop is to review and detail the research needs starting with the consideration of the most significant "hot spots" and then deriving the main contributors and required technologies:

Per transport mode: hot spots → major contributors → reduction required for complying with immission targets → technology required → technology gaps
