  General Information

The NABUCCO project aims at setting up a methodology for the low-noise oriented engineering of integrated assemblies such as refrigerators, washing machines or computing equipment. The methodology will include:

  • the definition of standard measurement procedures for the vibro-acoustic characterisation of the vibrating or noisy components of the assembly;
  • the implementation of a robust mathematical model for the prediction of the overall noise from the characteristics of the components as mounted on a generic structure which is an average of the type of assembly considered;
  • the translation of the mathematical model into a software aimed at simulating the noise signal of an assembly including components with known characteristics.
NABUCCO's philosophy is to provide component and assembly manufacturers with a tool easily usable by engineering departments.
