  General Information

The Dutch Noise Innovation Programme (Innovatie Programma Geluid - IPG) consists of a carefully composed set of projects for reducing the traffic noise from motorways and railways at the source. After testing the new measures on vehicles, roads and railways, the second important step is to quickly implement the innovations. Implementing the new measures must result in a clear reduction in noise and a 50% reduction of the existing costs. The IPG is a collaboration between VROM (Ministry for Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment), V&W (Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management), ProRail and RWS (Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management).
