  General Information

A large number of EC funded Thematic Networks within Key Actions 2 and 3 of the Growth Programme, as well as in the Energy and Environment and in IST Programmes relate to road vehicles and mobility. Similar such programmes focussing on various specialist themes exist on a national level. This represents a vast pool of knowledge and expertise where co-ordination and dissemination can be improved and benefited from. The FURORE Network will integrate and link European research networks within the automotive sector. The main network output will be an automotive R&D technology roadmap describing expectations, needs and priorities for automotive research up to 2020 and beyond. FURORE will investigate potential links between technologies through information exchange and technology transfer to maximise return-on-investment from collaborative European research within FP 5 for support in defining priorities for FP 6 and 7.
